Public bug reported: While testing an application I'm working on, I noticed it fails with Ubuntu's version of GStreamer but not with Debian's.
My application tries to use decodebin to decode some JPEGs. It needs this bug in jpegparse fixing: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/merge_requests/3983 That's when I noticed that Ubuntu has moved jpegparse into gst-plugins- good, but the version is very out of date. It looks like it has not been updated since around 1.18 and there have been some major changes since then. Please update jpegparse to 1.24 in Ubuntu. I'm guessing the other imported elements are also out of date, but I didn't check them. I also haven't checked if Ubuntu is behind on any other issues due to this. ** Affects: gst-plugins-good1.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2089260 Title: Ubuntu version of jpegparse is from 1.18 and not 1.24 as claimed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-good1.0/+bug/2089260/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
