As per Mauricio's previous comments I have done 2 and 4 again with the
new package.
Point 2:
I can confirm that enabling proposed and then doing a do-release-upgrade
doesn't show any issues
point 4:
Downloaded the 2 deb packages, the one in -updates and one in -proposed,
and used debdiff to compare the packages. These are the expected changes
ubuntu@xenial01:~$ debdiff sosreport_4.4-1ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
sosreport_4.4-1ubuntu0.18.04.3_amd64.deb
File lists identical (after any substitutions)
Control files: lines which differ (wdiff format)
