I had this issue too on 22.04. Started after an update where an error occurred "The Pakagekit daemon has crashed". After that I tried "sudo dpkg --configure -a" but that failed too at the PackageKit update. Like described in the report above.
But during this step some other updates was installed correctly, so not a complete fail. After that I tried "sudo apt --fix-broken install" as suggested in an update error message. That command updated the PackageKit and packagekit-tools correctly and after that I was able to update everything else, so all packages now are up to date. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2091902 Title: packagekit wants to update but cant because it's upposedly not installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/packagekit/+bug/2091902/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
