FWIW Debian is now moving to ruby 3.3 (Ubuntu is ahead of Debian). Usually, we do not move to a new version of the ruby interpreter right after its release to give some time to the upstream maintainers of gems/apps to support this new version and its breaking changes. Ruby 3.4 will likely be a thing in the second half of this year in Debian (after Debian Trixie release).
