i no longer have access to that Ubuntu system, I had to change
distribution for another project of mine as well as needing a KDE system
since gnome has no colour correction for us colourblind folk, besides
the point though.

I do know that the only extentions I had enabled other than the default
Ubuntu ones is blur my shell, which didn't cause in issue with the large
text settings in other distributors (fedora and arch) I probably
should've checked but I always forget that blur my shell is an extension
and not just part of gnome.
