I believe this to be a different bug, not introduced by this update. Any update
could have triggered it.

I'm not super familiar with xymon, but doing a quick test, I see it has
debconf questions about the server, and it tries to then save the
selected server ip to /etc/default/xymon-client based on the debconf
answers.

I tried a quick test in noble:
- install latest xymon-client, interactively (apt-get install)
- answer the debconf question with a server IP of 10.10.10.6
- edit /etc/default/xymon-client and change the server IP to 10.10.19.9
- reinstall xymon-client interactively: apt-get install --reinstall xymon-client
- the IP in /etc/default/xymon-client was reset to 10.10.10.6, i.e., what was
in debconf

Could you please file a separate/new bug about this, if you can confirm
this behaviour on your end?
