First off, the Ubuntu Code of Conduct applies here, so what I would
suggest, despite whatever reasonable frustration you may be
experiencing, is to be act nicely, respectfully, and collaboratively.
Even outside the rule of law as it were, you're just bound to get better
results that way.

Anyways, the bug here is upstream. Work with the Calamares folks on the
upstream bug to get the answers to your questions. If you read the whole
bug report that you commented on, though, you will certainly see that it
works for some situations and not for others. What those exact
conditions are is a different question. The Calamares developers will be
your best resource in that regard.
