Public bug reported:

I am currently trying to debug why I can use a nameserver with a
nondefault (i.e. != 53) port for wireguard connections with wg-quick and
systemd.netdev, but not with Network-Manager and the nm applet with
Lubuntu and Xubuntu. The editor does not accept the syntax.

But:

base on the manpage of netplan (see "nameservers"), it does not accept a
port number, just an ipv4 or ipv6 address.

So not all network configurations can be used with netplan / nm-applet.
