The upstream project https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/issues/8629#issuecomment-2764446356 suggests that cherry-picking their commit https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/commit/0729ab5cb013dd90d72f8010a7d826a38d2ea474 is a likely workaround, which I mention in case it's easier than switching from 1.7 to 1.9 per #9. But given 1.7 is EoL, I suspect moving to a version that is supported by the upstream project is better if possible.
