Here it's important to distinguish an actual error that prevents nut-
client from working, from an annoying error message in the logs.
I see that ExecPreStart from nut-client.service is using the "-" prefix
to the command, meaning that if that particular command fails, it will
not fail the whole service. And that seems to be the case. The status
output acknowledges that the ExecPreStart command failed, but not the
service:
$ systemctl status nut-client.service

controller

Apr 01 20:43:18 n-nut systemd[1]: nut-monitor.service: Deactivated successfully.
Same for nut-monitor.service. It's definitely a bug (referencing a file that
doesn't exist), but if the only problem is the error message in the logs, then
its impact is less severe. This is point (1) from Bryce's comment above. Step
(2) is only necessary if the impact is more than just an error message in the
logs.
I also checked older ubuntu releases, and it only happens in noble
onwards, so I added the appropriate tasks to this bug.
