I'm running exactly same Ubuntu and chromium versions as mentioned in the bug 
description.
I encounter the same bug BUT downloading files also fails when the "Save as 
..." dialog is NOT enabeld.
And I can confirm the same error in Brave Browser 135.1.77.95.

# chromium --version
