Trying to install the Hardy Alpha 3 on a i386 desktop computer
Boot
F2 Language: English
F3 Keymap: Belgium
Start or install Ubuntu
After a while the screen turns black (terminal).
It takes a while before I see the desktop (no wall paper)
System > Administration > Network > Unlock
The network settings do not load and stays on "changing interface
configuration". I close by clicking the "X" on the window, then > Close
I start the terminal
Ubiquity --debug
Step 1: > Forward
Step 2: English > Forward
Step 3: Brussels > Forward
Step 4: Belgium > Belgium (no special keys) > Forward
It takes a long time for the partitioner to load
Step 5: Manual > Forward
Using a clean /home partition and a swap of 847 MB > Forward
Step 6: Fill in name etc. > Forward
Step 7: No migration > Forward
Step 8: Everything seems to be okay > Install
Install complete > Continue using the live CD
I copy the log files (with the NULL password I can now access my other
partitions)
Restart
Options > Select Language > English UK
Log in
System > Administration > Network > Unlock
The network settings do not load and stays on "changing interface
configuration".
I try many times, also removing the Network-manager as I always need to do to
access the Internet, but it did not help.
I cannot install wifi-radar (that I use in my other installations) because I
need a working connection for that (?????)
Reboot computer and putting back my backups.
