Ok, with linux mint in a vm, and using xed to edit the same file twice, I reproduced it against an ubuntu plucky samba server. Fascinating.
kernel 6.8.0-51-generic cifs-utils 2:7.0-2ubuntu0.2 samba 2:4.19.5+dfsg-4ubuntu9 xed 3.8.2+xia That's the same xed version I tried in ubuntu, self built. I wonder if +xia indicates some patch that is not in upstream. But anyway, we have another reproducer now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2108981 Title: samba segfaults when modifying any file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/2108981/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
