I've been trying for 8+ hours to get the proper GPU drivers installed
for my Ubuntu 24.04 system. Neither the regular repos nor the Drivers
PPA work.
I've tried with 'ubuntu-drivers' and using APT (e.g. sudo apt install
nvidia-driver-570). I've purged and started over repeatedly. The only
combination that seems to work is the 550 driver, but I stubbornly tried
to upgrade this morning to 570 because ubuntu-drivers thinks that is the
correct choice for my hardware.
With a working system/install, I should get results from the nvidia-smi
command
At the moment, I have a driver/library version mismatch
