** Description changed:

  [Impact]

A new 24.10 minor version has been released from upstream, and should be
- backported under the HWE exception. This also allow to backport various
- fixes to the packaging.
+ backported under the HWE exception. This also allows us to backport
+ various fixes to the packaging.

It was tested using a Noble PPA because the real hardware is available
  in Noble cloud machines.

Testing will not be more advanced than that for oracular. But the
upstream version was validated using the same version but backported to
  noble instead of oracular.

  [Test case]

Install the produced binary package mofed-modules-24.10-dkms.
Check that the modules can compile against the series kernels.
(Noble) Run the MOFED test suite on real hardware with the new version
installed

This can be done with two connected OCI bare-metal instances using
  https://github.com/canonical/pycloudlib/blob/main/examples/oracle/oracle-
  example-cluster-test.py :

   * Functional tests of RDMA ping between nodes
   * Performance test of RDMA throughput and latency
   * Performance test of ethernet over ConnectX cards via iperf3
   * Functional test to ensure mellanox hardware configuration utilities are
installed

We have been using the Optimized3.36 shape of Oracle Cloud Instance, but
any shape should work as long as it has an IB-capable ConnectX device.

  [Where things could go wrong]

NEW package for noble, so reduced impact.
Update for oracular, modules might stop to build.
