In that case I say there is some inconsistency in the user interface: I
cannot remember that I enable universe manually. I assume that it was
enable by gnome-app-install automaticall when I selected the Open Source
applications from the drop down selector in its top left edge of the
window. Is it possible to improve gnome-app-install that it fetches the
package descriptions as soon as one selects the open source applications
for the first time?

Please look also on my other reported bug #62667. Third-Party
applications seems to be displayed if one selects "Ubuntu supported
software" from the drop-down menu.

Seems that the user interface of install-gnome-app still needs a little
bit of work. (But it is already much better than Dapper, thank you for
all the improvements done so far).
