Tested on noble-proposed ----------------------------------------- I can confirm that with snapd=2.68.5+ubuntu24.04.1 on a fresh 24.04 install the issue no longer exists and the test steps from above are successful.
With reexec disabled, I first tested with snapd=2.63+24.04ubuntu0.1. I installed the chromium browser and didn't see any snapd feedback. I then installed 2.68.5 root@noble:~# apt install snapd=2.68.5+ubuntu24.04.1 root@noble:~# snap version snap 2.63+24.04ubuntu0.1 snapd 2.63+24.04ubuntu0.1 series 16 ubuntu 24.04 kernel 6.14.0-24-generic I installed chromium browser and saw snapd tasks reported.
