Hi, it's just the front end freezing. I can kill the process and restart it. I just changed my graphics are to an nvidia 7300 gt and the problems have stopped. I think the old graphics card was a matrox 8 meg card so perhaps it was a bit lacking in features and was possibly the cause :-) hope this helps.
