I think the way the package is now doesn't work. It causes too many problems when it is installed. Very long postinst, memory consumption, inability to run autopkgtests (because the VM OOMs), and I wonder what would happen if we had the package installed in two lxd containers that are running autopkgtests and that happen to be on the same host. I also haven't investigated yet the systemd config drop-ins that are being installed, to change the service start order. That could have its own set of consequences to boots.
