Daniel Letzeisen (dtl131): "[41209.528958] [ T16341] Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xffdf8febcae0aeb0: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP NOPTI
If it was me, I'd run Memtest for at least one pass, preferably overnight." Excellent suggestion Daniel! Thank you for it! My 4 RAM sticks were not properly timed in BIOS, which showed lots of errors in memtest86+. After lowering the frequency and adjusting timings, they passed overnight memtest with no issues. My guess is that i915 driver was allocating video memory in the unstable region. With the RAM fixed, I hope the issue will go away. I will monitor my Ubuntu for the next few days and will post results here. P.S. Never blindly use XMP profile with mix and match RAM sticks (facepalm). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2123636 Title: System crashes randomly (Ubuntu 24.04) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.14/+bug/2123636/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
