Hi Andras, thanks for replying. When you say:
> Samba/winbind can retrieve group membership during user login (ssh) from the MAINDOMAIN. That user is then fully functional? All groups are resolved? But if you, as that user, try to resolve the groups of another user from MAINDOMAIN, then you only get the trivial groups? I asked about this being reproducible in later ubuntu releases because Ubuntu Focal 20.04 is out of standard support, and only receives selected security updates via ESM[1]. But I see that Ubuntu Jammy 22.04 has the exact same samba version (4.15.13), but might have different patches applied, because it's still under support. Would you be able to test this with samba from Ubuntu Jammy 22.04? And if this is something you can somewhat easily do, would you also be able to test with samba from an even later ubuntu release, like Plucky 25.04? That would help narrow it down. For us to create such an environment here with multiple AD domains is quite a large effort. 1. https://ubuntu.com/security/esm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2121874 Title: Samba Winbind cannot enumerate groups of users in main domain To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/2121874/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
