Indeed the EDID data being returned by the monitor shows modes up to
1920x1080 but Xorg is only willing to go to 1440x576. But I don't see
any software problems so this seems like it might just be a bad HDMI
connection or low quality cable making the negotiation fail. It is
fairly common that a new driver will change how much the OS is willing
to tolerate low quality connections before lowering the advertised
resolutions. Please try a new HDMI cable if you can.
