If you're still getting: (EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0) in your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
then I don't think the issue has anything to do with xorg.conf or EDID. It looks like the relevant package installed without issue: 2025-09-15 13:07:49 configure xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-580:amd64 580.65.06-0ubuntu0.24.04.4 <none> 2025-09-15 13:07:49 status unpacked xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-580:amd64 580.65.06-0ubuntu0.24.04.4 2025-09-15 13:07:49 status half-configured xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-580:amd64 580.65.06-0ubuntu0.24.04.4 2025-09-15 13:07:49 status installed xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-580:amd64 580.65.06-0ubuntu0.24.04.4 So I'm not sure what's going on. The only thing that comes up in search is something about bumblebee or bbswitch, which I don't think are factors here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2124234 Title: Monitor detected with limited resolutions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-580/+bug/2124234/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
