Tried to debug this bug have gotten kind of stuck. So far what I know is: * kubuntu-installer-prompt works well enough, it manages to fit itself to the screen using kwin_wayland as a window manager. * A Plasma session launched from SDDM works. * The OEM preparation session launched from SDDM does not work, the display area is confined to a 1024x768 box in the upper-left corner and the resolution cannot be increased using KDE System Settings. * But if I switch to a TTY and run`/usr/libexec/start-kubuntu-oem-env` manually, *now* it works and Calamares shows up fullscreen. * I can't launch startplasma-wayland from a TTY.
I guess the most likely culprit is some interaction between SDDM and the OEM session launch script. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2125435 Title: Kubuntu first-time-user setup session after an OEM install has no window manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares-settings-ubuntu/+bug/2125435/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
