Tried to debug this bug have gotten kind of stuck. So far what I know
is:

* kubuntu-installer-prompt works well enough, it manages to fit itself to the
screen using kwin_wayland as a window manager.
* A Plasma session launched from SDDM works.
* The OEM preparation session launched from SDDM does not work, the display
area is confined to a 1024x768 box in the upper-left corner and the resolution
cannot be increased using KDE System Settings.
* But if I switch to a TTY and run`/usr/libexec/start-kubuntu-oem-env`
manually, *now* it works and Calamares shows up fullscreen.
* I can't launch startplasma-wayland from a TTY.

I guess the most likely culprit is some interaction between SDDM and the
OEM session launch script.
