But usually, when doing “normal” updates (e.g., through apt update or
Software Center), you’d get a prompt asking if you want to replace the
file with the new one. I didn’t get that. Maybe it’s because it was part
of one of those "offline updates", where I had to reboot for the update
to take place, and there’s no way to prompt during that process? I think
the timeline fits with me coming back from a few days off and there
being a larger update that required a reboot to install.

(also i don't recall ever having modified snaps profile, but that's hard
to confirm now)
