Thanks for the video, this all appears to be working correctly.
- You install the opera deb which contains a .list file for opera
- You remove the opera deb, which keeps the .list file around, because
you haven't purged the package and it's a configuration file (conffile),
so it's preserved for reinstalling
- You remove the source which edits the .list file to remove the opera
repository (it modifies the conffile, it becomes smaller)
- You install the deb again, and your modification to the .list file
succesfully remains.
This is a very annoying thing but it's ultimately exactly what the
system is designed to do.
A fix I can offer is to deny removing entries from conffiles and only allow
deleting them; or not allow editing of conffiles at all in the UI.
