My symptoms match this bug report more than the other one at #2128729, specifically the trouble with grub being hidden. On the other report, users mention the lack of graphics/video but can access the grub menu just fine. Is anyone investigating why Victoria users had the extra trouble with grub?
In good news: I'm finally back into 157, though it was complicated. It's no joke that "Recovery required understanding of GRUB, kernel parameters, and initramfs."
