Problem Description

After upgrading to kernel Ubuntu 5.15.0-160.170-generic 5.15.189, the
system occasionally becomes unresponsive, showing repeated soft lockup
messages in the console/logs. The affected process appears to be
kauditd.

The system requires a hard reboot to recover. The issue does not occur
on kernel 5.15.0-156-generic.

Observed Logs

Example repeated messages (see attached screenshot):
