I found https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues/765 that says that Wayland is not yet officially supported by open-vm-tools:
" This is due to open-vm-tools does not support Wayland yet. Please use X11 if possible, before we officially supports Wayland. " And it was then closed. I'll switch the bug from incomplete to triaged, since the problem was acknowledged, but there doesn't seem to be a fix in open-vm-tools yet. I'm unsure about the kwin point of view, though. Just a quick question: in the bug description, we have "The Ubuntu 25.10 doesn't have this problem.". Does that refer to the default ubuntu desktop environment, as opposed to the kde desktop? ** Bug watch added: github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues #765 https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues/765 ** Changed in: open-vm-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2128670 Title: open-vm-tools-desktop doesn't handle auto cursor capturing on Kubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kwin/+bug/2128670/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
