I can reproduce the issue in a Questing LXD container, when installing postgresql-common and libpam-mount, but only after adding your specific configuration to /etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml:
<volume user="*" fstype="cifs" server="smb.we.internal" path="homes/%(USER)" mountpoint="/home/%(USER)/share" /> Then running "apt install --reinstall postgresql-common" The issue seems to originate from PAM (src: libpam-mount, https://codesearch.debian.net/search?q=reenter+password+for&literal=1), so I'm assigning a bug task for "libpam-mount" to make the maintainers aware of this issue. PS: The same issue is happening on Resolute, Noble and Jammy for me. So I'm wondering how that pam_mount.conf.xml configuration ever worked for you in the first place. ** Also affects: libpam-mount (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags added: rls-qq-incoming ** Also affects: libpam-mount (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: postgresql-common (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags removed: rls-qq-incoming ** Tags added: rls-rr-incoming ** Also affects: libpam-mount (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: postgresql-common (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: libpam-mount (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: postgresql-common (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: libpam-mount (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: postgresql-common (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2130575 Title: dpkg stuck in "reenter password for pam_mount" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libpam-mount/+bug/2130575/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
