Thanks for the quick response, I updated the bug description to match what you say at #6, can you please have a look it's now accurate and edit it if not?
** Description changed: Trying to screen share https://webrtc.github.io/samples/src/content/getusermedia/getdisplaymedia/ gives black screen for "Window" and "Entire screen" share, only mouse pointer is visible. "Chromium Tab" screen share works fine. - This worked fine on current stable channel: Version 142.0.7444.59 - (Official Build) snap (64-bit) + This worked fine in versions 142.0.7444.59 and 142.0.7444.134 - But fails on current candidate channel: Version 142.0.7444.162 (and also - on previous candidate channel version 142.0.7444.134) - - + But fails on current candidate channel: Version 142.0.7444.162 I was in communication with Chromium team https://issues.chromium.org/issues/460146094. Trying to bisect with `python3 ./bisect-builds.py -a linux64 -g GOOD_VERSION -b BAD_VERSION` fails because for even much older version gives black screen. I guess being out of snap also prevents screen share. - ``` $ uname -a; type -a chromium Linux croraf-OMEN-by-HP-Laptop-17-cb0xxx 6.14.0-35-generic #35~24.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue Oct 14 13:55:17 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux chromium is /snap/bin/chromium chromium is /snap/bin/chromium ``` -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2131588 Title: Chromium screen share black screen - regression To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/2131588/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
