Public bug reported:

Hello Ubuntu team,

I am using Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS (x86_64) on my machine with a T20
keyboard. The keyboard backlight is not working at all in Ubuntu.
However, it works normally in Windows on the same machine, so the
hardware is fine.

Expected behavior:
- Pressing the backlight toggle key (or Fn + backlight key) should turn on/off
or adjust brightness.
- The backlight should remain on as long as the system is running.

Actual behavior:
- The backlight does not turn on at all in Ubuntu.
- The keys have no visible lighting.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot into Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS.
2. Press the keyboard backlight key (or Fn combination).
3. Observe that nothing happens.
4. Boot into Windows to confirm the backlight works.

Additional info:
- Keyboard model: T20
- Ubuntu version: 24.04.3 LTS (x86_64)
- Kernel version: (check with `uname -r` and include here)
- BIOS/firmware version: (if known)

Logs/attachments: (optional, attach dmesg output or screenshots if you
have)

Please let me know if you need more information or logs. I am happy to
help test any fixes.

Thank you.
