Public bug reported: When moving snap chromium to an external monitor (from my laptop's built in monitor), it distorts and zooms in until user input is detected on the external monitor. This only happens when I move it and maximize it on the new monitor. Two cases where I've seen this happen:
1. Dragging the maximized chromium window from the laptop monitor to the external monitor and maximizing it on the external monitor. 2. Moving the maximized chromium window from the laptop monitor to the external monitor using the built-in GNOME keyboard shortcuts (Meta + Shift + Up/Down/Left/Right), where it is also by default maximized. I have had this issue ever since I clean installed Ubuntu 24.04 on my machine last month. It only happens on wayland, not on X11. My primary laptop monitor has the dimensions 1920x1200 at 60 hz (16:10 aspect ratio). My external monitor is an old Samsung TV with dimensions 1920x1080 at 60hz (16:9 aspect ratio). I think this may be due to an issue with how gnome-shell 46.0 handles rendering, and maybe GNOME 46.1 or 46.2 fixes this. If that's the case, maybe we can look at updating to a slightly newer revision of GNOME in upcoming versions of Ubuntu 24.04? But it doesn't seem to be happening with snap VS Code (another electron app), so maybe it is a snap chromium specific issue?
