Hi, I had a reply from the kernel maintainer for the serial I/O drivers
and he said that "Looking at the discussions and based on the fact that
release events are "stuck" and are eventually released once another key
is pressed suggest that there is an issue with the platform firmware
that emulates the keyboard controller. From the kernel perspective it is
a simple FIFO where we read data byte by byte each time we get an
interrupt and we do not rearrange the events."

He also suggested to locate someone working for Dell to "poke it from
the inside". I do not have such contacts, so if someone has, please go
on!
