Public bug reported: We're seeing intermittent issues with swarm based services getting incorrect results to internal DNS queries.
This behaviour appeared after upgrading from 27.5.1 to 28.2.2. I suspect, but am not sure, that this is related to https://github.com/moby/moby/issues/50129. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS Release: 22.04 $ apt-cache policy docker.io docker.io: Installed: 28.2.2-0ubuntu1~22.04.1 Candidate: 28.2.2-0ubuntu1~22.04.1 Version table: *** 28.2.2-0ubuntu1~22.04.1 500 500 http://azure.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy-updates/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 27.5.1-0ubuntu3~22.04.2 500 500 http://azure.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy-security/universe amd64 Packages 20.10.12-0ubuntu4 500 500 http://azure.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/universe amd64 Packages $ docker version Client: Version: 28.2.2 API version: 1.50 Go version: go1.23.1 Git commit: 28.2.2-0ubuntu1~22.04.1 Built: Wed Sep 10 14:50:16 2025 OS/Arch: linux/amd64 Context: default Server: Engine: Version: 28.2.2 API version: 1.50 (minimum version 1.24) Go version: go1.23.1 Git commit: 28.2.2-0ubuntu1~22.04.1 Built: Wed Sep 10 14:50:16 2025 OS/Arch: linux/amd64 Experimental: false containerd: Version: 1.7.28 GitCommit: runc: Version: 1.3.3-0ubuntu1~22.04.3 GitCommit: docker-init: Version: 0.19.0 GitCommit: $ docker info Client: Version: 28.2.2 Context: default Debug Mode: false Server: Containers: 23 Running: 11 Paused: 0 Stopped: 12 Images: 15 Server Version: 28.2.2 Storage Driver: overlay2 Backing Filesystem: extfs Supports d_type: true Using metacopy: false Native Overlay Diff: false userxattr: false Logging Driver: json-file Cgroup Driver: systemd Cgroup Version: 2 Plugins: Volume: local Network: bridge host ipvlan macvlan null overlay Log: awslogs fluentd gcplogs gelf journald json-file local splunk syslog CDI spec directories: /etc/cdi /var/run/cdi Swarm: active NodeID: pecdfddiqkjp13zl9f6pjjacz Is Manager: true ClusterID: k0i96wecas3c5amln9kcr8oot Managers: 3 Nodes: 6 Default Address Pool: 10.0.0.0/8 SubnetSize: 24 Data Path Port: 4789 Orchestration: Task History Retention Limit: 5 Raft: Snapshot Interval: 10000 Number of Old Snapshots to Retain: 0 Heartbeat Tick: 1 Election Tick: 10 Dispatcher: Heartbeat Period: 5 seconds CA Configuration: Expiry Duration: 3 months Force Rotate: 1 Autolock Managers: false Root Rotation In Progress: false Node Address: 10.20.32.12 Manager Addresses: 10.20.32.10:2377 10.20.32.11:2377 10.20.32.12:2377 Runtimes: io.containerd.runc.v2 runc Default Runtime: runc Init Binary: docker-init containerd version: runc version: init version: Security Options: apparmor seccomp Profile: builtin cgroupns Kernel Version: 6.8.0-1041-azure Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS OSType: linux Architecture: x86_64 CPUs: 4 Total Memory: 15.62GiB Name: leo-mgr-2.vm.az.tni.ja.net ID: 8df3dab5-3e56-481d-8897-c56cc5981332 Docker Root Dir: /var/lib/docker Debug Mode: false Experimental: false Insecure Registries: ::1/128 127.0.0.0/8 Live Restore Enabled: false ** Affects: docker.io-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2136802 Title: DNS resolution intermittent problems with Docker Swarm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/docker.io-app/+bug/2136802/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
