Public bug reported:
steam-installer on Linux installs steam-devices which is used to
configure udev permissions to allow steam programs/games launched as
regular users to access common controller devices.
I'm running Plucky 25.04 with Steam installed with the steam-devices
package
steam-devices:

Looking in the file /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/60-steam-input.rules, it
appears that is missing newer devices that are shown in upstream
repository managed by ValveSoftware:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-devices/blob/master/60-steam-
input.rules
This has the impact of not allowing some controllers, such as the PS5
DualSense Edge controller from being accessible correctly by games
launched by Steam.
Please see the attached diff from the master branch of steam-devices
attached which shows the difference between the installed package
version which was merged in October:
