Thanks Chris for the fast reply, I am waiting on some critical software
I use to finish their Wayland support before upgrading to Ubuntu 25.10 -
I realise I will be forced to do it before the support period expires,
but as of this time I'm leaving it as long as possible before making the
jump to limit the disruption in my software support.

Nevertheless, it might be worth checking that the Noble/Questing package
is implementing the latest udev rules for steam-devices regardless. I
have of course created my own udev rule to circumvent this in the mean
time, so I would probably agree with you on the feasibility of
effectively "back-porting" to Plucky.
