My laptop periodically goes to sleep on its own while in use. When this
happens, the screen displays repeated ACPI BIOS errors before the system
suspends.
The errors repeat continuously and appear related to broken ACPI
firmware methods.
Observed ACPI Errors
ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\_SB.PCIO.GPP7.CADR],
AE_NOT_FOUND
ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PEP._DSM due to previous error
Expected Behavior
The system should remain awake while in use and not suspend
unexpectedly.
Actual Behavior
The system enters sleep/suspend periodically without user interaction.
Frequency
Intermittent but recurring (multiple times per day).
Additional Notes
This appears to be an ACPI / BIOS firmware issue. The same ACPI error
repeats many times before suspend. A photo of the error screen is
available if needed.
