Looking at extra-info.txt:
Xwayland doesn't seem to be relevant here as it's only using a couple of
megabytes RSS. gnome-shell/mutter also doesn't seem to be a major
offender, using 700MB of RAM at most. That's not ideal, but it won't
cause an OOM problem either.
The big offenders seem to be vivaldi at 2-3GB and two python process at
10GB per process. It looks like app-flatpak-io.github.chidiwilliams.Buzz
may be the reason Python is using 20GB there.
So I think app-flatpak-io.github.chidiwilliams.Buzz is really the sole
cause here. Downgrading Mutter may or may not have had a real benefit.
If so then the benefit would just be that the older version is more
resilient to low memory situations. But we already know the GNOME
desktop doesn't cope with memory exhaustion well.
Please try again without app-flatpak-io.github.chidiwilliams.Buzz using
20GB+ of RAM, and if you encounter any more problems then please open
bugs about them.
