I have tried this scenario on 2 systems, 1 had 4 LUNS and 1 had 2 LUNS, what i tried on this system was: 1) Install the OS on mpatha complete the installation, come back to installer. 2) Install the OS on mpathb complete the installation, come back to installer. 3) You might see the messages while your installer is loading as [2168]: updated bindings file /etc/multipath/bindings [2168]: mpathb: addmap [0 230686720 multipath 1 queue_if_no_path 1 alua 2 1 ser> [2168]: libdevmapper: ioctl/libdm-iface.c(1995): device-mapper: reload ioctl on> [2168]: dm_addmap: libdm task=0 error: Device or resource busy [2168]: mpathb: ignoring map [2168]: mpathb: addmap [0 230686720 multipath 1 queue_if_no_path 1 alua 2 1 ser> [2168]: libdevmapper: ioctl/libdm-iface.c(1995): device-mapper: reload ioctl on> [2168]: dm_addmap: libdm task=0 error: Device or resource busy [2168]: mpathb: ignoring map : Started multipathd.service - Device-Mapper Multipath Device Controller. 4) Now once you start the installation it will fail. If in any case this doesn't recreate the problem could you please try installation on the mpathb 2 to 3 times. Reproducibility with my scenario was 95% so if not like this can you try 2 to 3 times. Answering your question about installation being present on multiple disks or single. Each time I did installation I was choosing single disk at once. For example When I did first installation on mpatha it was only mpatha that I selected, then mpathb and so on. Distro installation was not distributed and this issue was independent of LVM or non LVM! Please let me know if I have missed to give some information.
