This is still a problem. Upstream resolved it as fixed with

However, most Gst-based media players are recommended to use GstPlay, which
doesn't appear to be making use of the GST_STREAM_FLAG_UNSELECT flag. That flag
also doesn't appear to be getting set properly either, so there may be bugs in
the matroska demuxer and/or gstplay.
