3 + 4) I have a headphone splitter plugged in my pc that allows for microphone
input and earphone output on a single audiojack. When the splitter is in the
socket and I switch to line-out speakers for audio. No sound will be played
through my speakers.
When I remove the splitter, only then does the line-out audio play. It doesn't
matter if there are no actual headphones or earphones plugged into any of the
sockets of the splitter. As long as the splitter is in the machine, the
line-out audio doesn't play.
