Finally I had to find the solution myself. Adding as the last line in
file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:

options snd-hda-intel model=alc256-asus-aio

and rebooting fixed the problem. Tested with Ubuntu kernels 6.14 and
6.18.1.

Please add this option to kernel/Alsa configuration to make it working after
fresh installations on this Asus model without any manual changes required
later.
Maybe in file: path: root/sound/pci/hda/patch_realtek.c ?? (I am not kernel
expert).

I reported this bug as https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220597
because there was no any answer from your support. But they have the following
statement:
"if you did not compile your own kernel from scratch, you are probably in the
wrong place.
Please use the following links to report a bug to your distribution instead:
..."

You promise LTS support for 24.04 but there is no reaction to bug report
that something WORKED when 24.04.02 was used and STOPPED WORKING with
24.04.03. The laptop is from 2021 and it has still valid support for
Windows 11 and (slowly) works with this system.

So, maybe there is a time to assign this bug to someone after four
months? Or declare that support is valid for security patches only in
case of kernel problems.
