I can see two possible reasons for this:
1. Poor performance scaling with large text files (does it happen with
small ones?)
2. The text cursor is fading in and out, meaning the window is really
animating at a significant frame rate. This inefficiency will continue
while you interact with the window and the cursor never reaches its idle
state.
