This is a recurring issue, and the same behavior has also been observed on HP 
laptops (previous bugs I found):

The only symptom we see is that after running Wi-Fi testing, the job
times out. When checking the device, it cannot be reached via SSH,
though it remains “slightly” alive. Specifically, you can still move the
mouse, open a terminal, or type commands, but when running commands,
such as 'ip list' or 'sudo reboot', the system hangs and you can do
nothing, only to hard reset.
