That's an interesting result, thanks for trying that, it may rule out that commit I mentioned as being the culprit.
At this point I think it's important we confirm the behavior on the last known fully working version of the kernel. Do you have any record of what that kernel version was? Could you try installing and booting into that version and confirming all of the display features are working as you would expect? I was hoping that 6.8.0-88 would have been far enough, looks like it wasn't.
