Just want to still add - I fou nd a workaround, for now:

- Boot from old kernel
- sudo update-initramfs -u -k 6.17.0-14-generic
- sudo update-grub
- reboot to 6.17.0-14 and it works

So it looks like the initramfs was not generated or not correctly for
kernel 6.17.0-14
