You need to boot into the 6.8.x kernel from the GRUB menu before you can
remove the 6.17.x kernel. You tried to remove the kernel you were
running, which triggered this report ( bug 2073399 ).
To bring up GRUB menu, press Esc when starting. You can also change
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE from hidden to menu in /etc/default/grub
GRUB_TIMEOUT=2
If you were trying to report a bug against 6.17 which is preventing you
from running VMWare WS, please give more information.
