Update: Verification and workaround found via @saviq in mesa-2404 I would like to provide an update on this issue.
After investigating with Saviq (from the Canonical Snapcraft/Mesa team), it appears that a fix/workaround has been identified in the mesa-2404 snap (currently in the candidate channel, version 25.2.8-snap237). Testing on an Intel 14th Gen (i9-14900) system confirms that using this updated mesa-2404 stack resolves the vaMapBuffer2 symbol lookup error, even when running with the stock libva2 (2.20.0) provided in the Noble archives. While the symbol is still missing from libva2 2.20.0, the underlying driver crash is resolved by the updates in the Mesa stack. If you were considering a backport of libva 2.22, you might want to coordinate with @saviq and the Mesa team to see how they addressed the relocation issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2139458 Title: libva2 2.20.0 is missing vaMapBuffer2 symbol required by newer Intel media drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-media-driver/+bug/2139458/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
