Actually, netplan is failing in a more basic way with python 3.14:
root@r-dep8:~# netplan try
Do you want to keep these settings?
Press ENTER before the timeout to accept the new configuration
Changes will revert in 120 seconds
An error occurred: Read returned None.
Reverting.
root@r-dep8:~#
There isn't even a timer. The moment we would expect to see the countdown at
119 seconds, it instead fails.
